Privacy policy

Now I’m Open helps adults meet like-minded people. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices. We follow Singapore’s Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (PDPA).

What we collect

• Account: your email address, used to sign you in.
• Profile: first name, date of birth (to confirm you’re 18 or older; others see only an age band until you connect), gender, the modes you choose, interests, prompts, photos and your home area.
• Open cards and check-ins: what you post and the area you choose.
• Messages with people you’ve connected with, and any reports or blocks you make.

Location

If you tap “Use my location”, your device’s position is sent once to find the nearest area, and the coordinates are discarded immediately. We store only the area, such as “Tiong Bahru” or “Seoul”. We never show or store your exact location, never track you in the background, and never sell location data. Expired check-ins are deleted within 72 hours.

Who sees what

• People nearby see your open cards, first name, age band and area only if you turned on Nearby. You see theirs only while they can see yours.
• Your full profile and photos are shown to someone only after you’ve both said yes, or to a person whose card you asked to join.
• A card becomes public at its own link only if you tap “Make shareable”.

Why we use your data

To run the service: matching people with shared interests, showing cards, delivering messages, keeping people safe (including reviewing reports and flagging scam-like messages), and improving the service. We don’t sell personal data or use it for third-party advertising.

Where it’s stored

Data is stored with Supabase in its Singapore region and the website is served by Vercel. These providers process data for us under contract.

Your choices

• Edit or pause your profile at any time. Paused profiles aren’t shown to anyone.
• Block anyone: they disappear for you and you for them, immediately.
• Ask for a copy of your data or for your account to be deleted by emailing hello@nowimopen.com. We respond within 30 days.
