Responsible ads
Last updated 21 October 2026
These are the rules for every ad, poster, landing page and social post about Now I’m Open, including posts by creators we work with. If you see one of ours breaking them, tell us at hello@nowimopen.com.
What we will never claim
- No guaranteed matches. We can't promise anyone will say I'm in. We say people nearby can say I'm in, never that they will.
- No member counts we can't show. Any number in an ad must be live on our site at the time, from our own database, and at least 10. We never round up.
- No 'totally safe' or '100% safe'. We explain what we do (area only, mutual yes, verification, report and block). We never promise safety we can't control.
- No fake testimonials, reviews or screenshots. Quotes come only from members who agreed in writing. Demo screens are labelled 'Sample screen'.
- No 'verified' without saying what it means. Verified means a person on our team matched a selfie to the member's photos. It is not a background check.
- No targeting or wording aimed at under-18s. The service is for adults 18 and over. Ads must say 18+.
- No pressure or scarcity tricks. No fake countdowns, 'only 2 spots left' that isn't real, or 'everyone is joining'.
- No comparisons we can't back up. We can say what we do differently (no swiping, area only). We don't call other apps unsafe or fake.
- No sexual or suggestive wording. Date mode is for low-pressure first meets in public. Ads stay friendly and respectful.
- No use of real people's photos or names without consent. Creators and members appear only with written permission, and paid posts carry an ad disclosure.
What we always do
- Say 18+ near the button.
- Say free only where it is true today.
- Say 'meet in busy public places' when an ad shows a first meet.
- Keep the landing page headline the same as the ad that sent people there.
- Label demo screens 'Sample screen'.
- Disclose paid partnerships as required by the ASAS Code.
Numbers
Any live number on our site, like meet-ups this month, comes straight from our database and only appears once it reaches 10. We never round up. See our open numbers.
