Good places to meet

  • Marina Bay waterfront: Flat, well-lit loops in town, used by several run clubs.
  • East Coast Park: Long seaside paths for steady distance runs.
  • MacRitchie Reservoir: A 20km network of trails and boardwalks. Stay on marked trails, as closed areas carry fines.
  • Rail Corridor: A 24km green corridor along the old railway line. Expect some temporary diversions for works.
  • Lakeside Garden, Jurong Lake Gardens: Running paths and the western end of the NParks Coast-to-Coast Trail.

Tips

  • Free clubs include Running Department (Wednesdays and Saturdays), Fast and Free Running Club (Thursdays and Saturdays) and The Social Running Club (Thursdays and Saturdays). Check their social pages for meet points.
  • The Singapore International Marathon website lists 27 run clubs and their usual training days, which is a handy place to start.
  • Run early or after sunset to avoid the midday heat, and carry water.
  • Meet at a busy, public start point and share your route with someone who is not running.
  • Say your pace honestly in your card, so nobody is left behind or held back.

Questions

Do I need to be fast?

No. Put your usual pace in the topic, such as easy or conversational, and people at a similar level can say I'm in.

Is Now I'm Open a run club?

No. It helps you find a running buddy, or a friend to go to an existing club with. Clubs set their own routes and rules.

Can I find a women-only running partner?

Yes. You can post a women-only card, and some clubs, such as Happy Pace Club, are aimed at women too.
